She is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in City, County & Local Government Law. Cindy received her J.D. from Boston College Law School, where she graduated magna cumlaude and served on the Editorial Board of the Law Review. Before her graduate school education, Cindy graduated cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Massachusetts with a B.A.

Cindy Laquidara commands over 30 years of experience navigating commercial litigation, environmental litigation, government and utility contracting, and government affairs issues. As the former general counsel of the City of Jacksonville, she has acted as lead trial counsel on an extensive portfolio of significant cases.

Her professional history spanned representation of both public and private companies in intricate litigation at both the federal and state level. She has litigated procurement, toxic tort, Title VII, pensions, contract, ADA, federal aviation, First Amendment, real estate & redevelopment matters, and more as trial counsel. Cindy has also served as appellate counsel in similar matters.

Her work in the legal field has earned a variety of accolades. In 2005, Cindy Laquidara received the honor of being named Woman Lawyer of the Year, and has maintained a position in Florida Trend’s Legal Elite roster since 2007.  In 2013, as well, Cindy received recognition as Jacksonville Magazine’s top Legal Professional: a peer-designated honor. Three years prior, she won The Jacksonville Financial News & Daily Record’s Lawyer of the Year award. Additionally, Cindy holds an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, their highest rating for both ethical standards and legal ability.  More recently, she was voted a Superlawyer for 2015, and has been voted in the inaugural class – as an Ultimate Attorney in Jacksonville Florida.

A part from these great career achievements and necessary recognition for he work, Cindy Laquidara remains active in the legal community. She has given lectures on interacting with the City on environmental issues and permitting, as a member in the Jacksonville Bar Environmental Section. Ms. Laquidara was also tapped to sit on a panel discussion regarding “Preparing Your Witnesses”,  in the annual Judge Ray Ehrlich Continuing Legal Education Seminar .  Ms. Laquidara’s memberships  include BENS (Business Executives for National Security) and the Downtown Rotaract Jax–an extension of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville, the oldest in the state of Florida.

Although she is generally known for her prolific accomplishments in litigation, Cindy Laquidara most comfortably embraces her reputation as an advocate of the people. In the event of legal and government misdeed, her community recognized Ms. Laquidara as someone ready and willing to stick up for the wronged.

When a respectable and dutiful prospective commission member in Jacksonville, who was both a professor and a Rhodes Scholar, fell victim to hateful attacks due to his religion, Cindy Laquidara was steadfast in her commitment to help protect his civil rights. She stepped in when incinerator ash was devastating an under-resourced community in her city. Ms. Laquidara also worked pro bono to locate and repatriate the remains of a downed veteran of the first Persian Gulf War, overcoming significant bureaucratic obstacles to resolve his fate and bring an American hero back home. Ms. Laquidara strives to embody the values of justice and equality that define the best of this country’s legal frameworks.
